neon + french doors scrapbook page

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that some of the papers from my Love Notes collection with We R Memory Keepers were going to be featured in Clique Kits March kit titled J'ADORE. They sent me the kit and I created a few scrapbook pages with it -- this being one of them. (Others can be seen here & here & here.)

04 DOORS 04

Again, like my 'Be Brave' page, I created this page in the middle of feeling broken over the whole thing with Tomas and losing an apartment (seen here) that I thought I really wanted. Needless to say, a lot of 'doors' felt like they were closing.

Since the making of this layout, I'm happy to report I feel a lot stronger and a lot more optimistic. I found and gotanother apartment that fits me so much better than that first one I thought I wanted did, and was presented with a new designing opportunity with me & my BIG ideas. Doors have opened since the making of this page, and proves the age old saying "If you scrap it, it will come."

04 DOORS 01

The first thing I did to make this page was neon yellow highlight the white space in between all the doors. Next, I adhered three images of my backside walking toward the doors. From there I pooled water with a paintbrush at the bottoms of each of the images of myself, and then lifted and tilted the page so the puddles would all drip down to the left. Then, I absorbed some pink watercolor paint with my brush and dabbed it in the water drippings. I traced around the whole edge of the page with the pink paint and created a nice boarder.

Lastly, I stapled strips of the neon yellow transparency paper from We R Memory Keeper's Clearly Bold collection that came in the J'Adore kit in between my photos. I adhered my journalling to the middle transparency strip so that it could be lifted up to reveal just the imagery, if so desired.

'Be Brave' scrapbook page

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that some of the papers from my Love Notes collection with We R Memory Keepers were going to be featured in Clique Kits March kit titled J'ADORE. They sent me the kit and I created a few scrapbook pages with it -- this being one of them. (Others can be seen here & here.)

01 BRAVE 04

I was still feeling a bit broken over the whole thing ('the whole thing' that I've yet to share on this space) and this scrapbook page about being brave resulted from it. The message 'Go Wild & Be Brave in happiness • friendship • love' is sooo what I know I need to do, but often substitute with taking a nap instead.

01 BRAVE 01

That 'BRAVE' shoulder tattoo in the photo is one of me & my BIG ideas Fancy Tats™ Metallic Tattoos. They are a lot of fun to play with, and I used them recently on this year's Easter eggs.

01 BRAVE 02

The supplies I used on this layout can be seen below. Clique Kits J'ADORE kit, me & my BIG ideas silver glitter alphas for the word 'BRAVE', Ombre Fence paper from my LOVE NOTES collection with We R Memory Keepers, and the pink transparency frame came from We R Memory Keepers CLEARLY BOLD collection.

'gym time / back in shape' scrapbook page

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that some of the papers from my Love Notes collection with We R Memory Keepers were going to be featured in Clique Kits March kit titled J'ADORE. They sent me the kit and I created a few scrapbook pages with it -- this being one of them. (Another one can be seen here.)

03 GYM 02

This layout is busy. It most probably has too much going on, but I had so much fun putting this page together that I don't really care. I love memory keeping about something I'm in the middle of accomplishing. Right now, I'm trying to get back in shape and it's been hard, but exactly what I need in my life right now, and I'm getting stronger and seeing results and "no, I'm not going to miss the gym because it's a Friday night", and you know I'm back at it first thing Saturday morning, and did I mention the trainer is cute? ;)

Yeah, all that is wrapped up in this page. As busy as it is (breaking most design principals) it represents how gloriously busy my gym makes me each week, and my intense focus at the task at hand whether it be suspended rows, the medicine ball, battle ropes, or dumbbells.

03 GYM 01

In talking supplies: I used my 'Secret Crush' paper as a base and layered my bold black & white painty stripe paper 'Wild Love' on top of it. My 'Tulip' paper on top of that, and a trimmed neon transparency paper from We R's Clearly Bold collection. All these came in the J'ADORE kit. The flair, the sexy black doily, the 1234 alphas, and the 'Right Now' and 'HARD' words were all from the kit as well.  I typed my tiny title 'gym time / back in shape' on my typewriter along with some phrases I adhered to the bottom of the page. I used a bright yellow highlighter over the title to make it stand out a bit.

'Follow your heart' scrapbook page

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that some of the papers from my Love Notes collection with We R Memory Keeperswere going to be featured in Clique Kits March kit titled J'ADORE. They sent me the kit and I created a few scrapbook pages with it -- this being one of them.

02 BE OK 01

For this layout, I used the pretty mint watercolor wash paper (which is actually the back side of my beloved French Doors paper). I placed it on black card stock to create a dark border for contrast. Then, I leaked scalloped pieces of the sexy black doilies that came in the J'ADORE kit off the black border. Next, I cut up pieces of the cards that came in the kit. I got the 'OK' from a card that said 'WORK HARD' for example. I loved the grey tree silhouette card, and cutting it in half and layering it behind my photo gave the illusion of a tall tree. I cut out two teal origami birds from a transparency card, which gave tonal continuity with the mint paper base. To match my bright pink lips, I layered cutouts of the pink transparency and that fun pink ticket!

02 BE OK 02

Another thing worth mentioning about this layout is I'm wearing a sequins sweatshirt that I bought from Nasty Gal in this photo. Wear something *sequins* is #25 on my 30 IN 30 list. Hooray for tackling my '30 IN 30' list one fun item at a time! ;)

my LOVE NOTES collection popping up in February kits !!!

my LOVE NOTES collection I designed for We R Memory Keepers | Amanda Rose Zampelli

Happy Friday, all! I'm sitting here beaming because LOVE NOTES, my second collection with We R Memory Keepers (see above), has made it into two of Studio Calico's scrapbooking add-on kits for February and into a couple of Cocoa Daisy's kits as well.

01 SC love notes add on

Can you find my papers in Studio Calico's Flying Trapeze Add-On kit (above) and High Wire Add-On kit (below)? Also note below: the turquoise Sequins Sticker sheet (my product idea) and the black Alpha-Block stickers (also my product idea). Yay!

02 SC love notes add on

Cocoa Daisy's February 2015 kit called Journal Entry contains the paper you see below. I love that they included my 'Weekending' paper from the LOVE NOTES collection because I created that paper as a love note to myself. The whole paper is made up of a bunch of phrases about taking it easy, and taking time for yourself. You can see an awesome project using it HERE.

my time @ CHA 2015

I've wrote about getting to go. I posted one of the videos I was in. I wrote about outfits I wore. I wrote about when I met Amy Tangerine. This post is all the rest about my time at CHA 2015 that I wanted to get down before a new month begins and it becomes "something I did a few weeks/months ago".

I spent most of my time at the me & my BIG ideas booth (which you can see more of here). I took tons of photos, revealed new products via instagram, and talked with visitors and potential buyers. On the opposite end of the room housing the Tradeshow was the We R Memory Keepers booth. I often walked my way over to creep and stalk my Love Notes collection that was on display. I touched the paper and posed like a ham.

We had blisty.com, scrapbook.com, and Noell Hyman from paperclipping.com visit the booth and shoot video starring yours truly. It was nervous wreck, but I felt ready. Speaking about product and talking craft & hobby is something I hope is a part of my career for years and years to come. To have the show be my first real exposure to that was awesome.  With each video, I got more relaxed in front of the camera, and I wished I could have done more!

Two things about my time at CHA were my favorite. The first thing was being with and meeting so many creative ladies who share my passion for this industry. We talked memory keeping, the lengths we scrapbookers go to get good photos, products we liked from each company, how to get into mixed media, and many other things only people that love to MAKE understand.

The second thing about CHA that was my favorite was the profound sense of being where I belonged. I was amongst other creatives who enjoy paper and images as much as me, and have an intense desire to express themselves through craft, and who understand how a 'making' hobby can make a happy life.

In short - CHA was OMG, and I am so grateful for the amazing start it gave me to this new year. ♥

CHA, HERE I COME!

CHA here I come

I'm not quite sure if I can write this post without choking up, but here it goes...

I landed in Anaheim, California yesterday and for the next three days I shall be attending my first ever CHA MEGA Show (also known as The Craft & Hobby Association Conference & Tradeshow). I will be stationed in the me & my BIG ideas booth since (DUH!) I work for mambi, but also hope to stop by the We R Memory Keepers booth and get an eyeful of my two paper collections I created with them in the spring of last year.

I get choked up about it because I think back to three years ago. Three years ago around this time, I was 4.5 months into my job (career!) as a classroom teacher that I worked and prayed so hard for years to get, only to realize the work weakened me and I wanted out. Then, in my throws of "what do I do? what do I do?", I stumbled upon the images of January 2012's CHA Show on instagram.

Mind. Blown.

I researched about the tradeshow, I looked up what booths were there, watched the whole weekend via social media, and knew (like that song) this is where I wanna be. I couldn't believe that people got together in a venue as big as a convention center (!!!) to love and appreciate everything about an industry I so adored. These people were just like me! ...and furthermore, the tradeshow meant that people were making a living from craft & hobby! It could be a job! It could be my job!! It was where I belonged, I decided, and I've been persuing it ever since.

That was three years ago, and today it's pretty amazing I get to attend. ♥ I might've even bought a few new pieces of apparel for the occassion. Hee hee! ;) If you'd like to follow along on my CHA adventure, you can do so via my instagram @amandarosezamp. I'll see you there and happy weekend!

I felt a definite rush when the designs I worked on for weeks were delivered to me in the mail.  It completely blew my mind as I pulled each piece from the delivery box and realized that all of my designs were not just computer files, but actual real-life scrapbook products. Even more thrilling was getting to create pocket pages and scrapbook layouts and mini books and cards with my designed products of my very own, with my mark and my weirdo aesthetic.

All this was great, without doubt, but words cannot express the dancing-in-the-living-room excitement that comes from seeing how other people are expressing themselves with your designs. That is pretty darn amazing.

So thank you, those who are responding positively to my first designed paper line: It Factor. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the release of my second line: Love Notes. I'm proud of myself for how they both came out, but feel I have so much more to contribute to the scrapbooking community, and It Factor is just the tip of the iceberg. :)

a flip-through of my IT FACTOR pocket scrapbooking kit

Screen Shot 2014-09-16 at 8.43.22 AM

Good morning, everyone! As I posted last week, my We R Memory Keepers paper collections were sent to me in the flesh, and my first designed collection - IT FACTOR - seems to be hitting stores and virtual shelves near you.  As people are getting their hands on them, so are their crafty blogs and YouTube accounts.

Speaking of -- here's one I came across this morning of this sweet scrapper, Lindsey, flipping through the pocket scrapbooking cards I designed in the IT FACTOR kit.  I like that she says 'stinkin' cute' 100 times:

Thanks for sharing, Lindsey, and I'm glad you (mostly) like them all! ;) I love a good feedback session.

In the meanwhile, you can buy them online here, and read the backstory behind the collections here.

my We R products in the flesh!

00 It Factor & Love Notes | Amanda Rose blog

Yes, I might work for me & my BIG ideas now, but once upon a time (6 months ago), I worked for We R Memory Keepers designing collections.  I managed to get two collections under my belt before American Crafts bought out We R and the rest became history. I talked about those two collections in this post.

Then, a couple of fews ago, my designs were mailed to me in the flesh!

Here's what they will look like on shelves:

It Factor 01 | Amanda Rose blog

My first funky line, It Factor, equipped with pineapple paper and bold bright colors, was released last month. See what's been done with it on the We R blog here and here. Shop for yourself here.

It Factor 02 | Amanda Rose blog

My second line with We R, Love Notes, has yet to be released, but here it is...on my door step, and HOLY MOLY. :)

Love Notes 01 | Amanda Rose blog

All kinds of soft, trendy goodness is in this line, and a black and white paper featuring just french doors (eek!)...and another one encouraging you to take a weekend for yourself. I cannot wait for the release of this line later on this year. ♥

Love Notes 02 | Amanda Rose blog

So there you have it folks: my two paper collections with We R Memory Keepers in the flesh.

It Factor & Love Notes | Amanda Rose blog

I hope I still have days of product design ahead of me, for many more ideas are swirlin'. ♥ ♥
Have a great Tuesday!
