Hi, all! Happy start to a new week!
Remember when I shared the news that I'm on the Document Life Workshop's Creative Team? Here is another completed challenge of using autumn colors.
With Thanksigving coming up, and it really hitting me at the start of this month that my beloved Summer is over, it felt the right time for a gratiitude list. And if you're going to write one a week before turkey day and aim to use autumn colors, it might has well be a fall-themed gratitude list. Hence hot tea, warm socks, and carbs making the list. ;)
Supplies:
For the list, I obviously used Dora, my vintage Olivetti typewriter (which I am ALL ABOUT come the cold months). I used four 3x4 Studio Calico cards in orange and brown tones from past kits. Those scene-stealing, fabulous glittered and non-glittered leaves are from this year's MAMBI fall line.
My "thankful for..." title was created with my Silhouette Cameo, which -- now that we're on topic -- let's talk about. I won it back in August, so I've had it for about three months. It's not working properly, and I'm wondering if the blade could be that worn already? My hunch is no. But, I mean, if the blade is set at anything less than 10 (the highest setting) it won't cut.
As you see above, with the higest setting for the blade, it didn't completely cut through the glitter stock. I went with it anyway after tearing off the top layer it did cut through, but it's all rippy and certainly doesn't look how I imagined it would. I'd appreciate any advice on how to fix it, or to hear from any of you with the same problem.
Even still, I think this layout turned out okay.
Stay tuned for December's round of Document Life Workshop challenges. I hope you try some.
