My birthday brunch was yesterday and if you ask me, it was a great success. With teacher-work being all encompassing this time of year, it's easy to forget that you have friends that aren't of the 4th and 5th grade variety.
Yesterday was a great reminder that I do, and they're awesome.
Yay!
As you can see, all my shots are of the people. I paid no mind to the mediocre food selection, the casual ambiance, or whether or not 'Happy Birthday' was going to be sung. All I wanted was the people closest to me there. And they were. They were there, safe and smiling, in spite of what the past two weeks have been like for our five boroughs.
For a couple of hours yesterday, we laughed and talked and chatted, and celebrated the stress-free and easy of the afternoon.
It was all I wanted before the crazy of the Thaknsgiving/Christmas/New Year holiday starts up for everyone.
Today I feel grateful. Grateful, and 28.
Haa haa!
P.S. -- Let me leave you with my cousin Claudia burning some calories on my street before we
headed off to brunch:
