Hi, readers and peepers!  I'm here with my 10th...yes, tenth...photo-a-day compilation for the year twenty.twleve.  Wowsers!

This month was wild, I must say...dressing up my iPhone photos in fire and lightning and planets and swishes and swooshes.  I used AlienSky and SpacePaint for most of it. I liked how 'October' they felt and I love how they all look together.  I also love that it's over. Ha! Pretty challenging.

Here's the compilation party to celebrate:

1 - I stood in my backyard, with my kitty slippers, and jeans + white long sleeve UNiFORM
2 - I was that mosquito's lunch for lunchtime
3 - tea + pumpkin pie
4 - I looked down and read my sweet friendhsip bracelet from my bish, Elisa 

5 - shadow of me & my chubby kitty cat phone
6 - I'm thankful for the sweet salon spot in Flushing that tames for mane for a mere $10 + tip
7 - little boo girl layin' in the light
8 - Monday OFF teacher work from a high angle 

9 - read laser beam *pew*pew*pew*
10 - emotional time-portal flashback to 1992 when sis & I walked past our grammar school
11 - 'A' for Amanda
12 - my cuzzie Claude had her elbows on our table visiting us that weekend *woot*woot* 

13 - my boyfriend's picture of his fishing landscape (closest I was going to get to outdoors) :/
14 - this crazy boo and his sister make me laugh on the reg
15 - homemade chicken soup at dinner...I could feel the sick coming on...
16 - I wrote that 68lbs. down card, and digitally on the photo of it 

17 - avocados are an out-of-this-world fruit, so tasty and delish
18 - 'Something About December' made me smile that day, and ever since
19 - Letters I bought from Michael's ...I MUST STOP...
20 - sis and I walking to the spot for our Fall Photoshoot at 4 o'clock

21 - I kept the sinus pressure calm with Alka-Seltzer at the bottom of my glass all week
22 - Artichokes were in town, and we cleaned 'em, stuffed 'em, steamed 'em, and ate 'em
23 - Manhattan view from my classroom window
24 - weather was grey and boring, yet comforting

25 - my two girl students are SO 'MY PEOPLE' ...two sweet souls (at the school Halloween party)
26 - Listening to trees rustling
27 - dozen doughnuts in my house that morning :P
28 - Looking back on my project life title page from January sets my brain on fire with new ideas

29 - That was not the real moon showing during Hurricane Sandy, but it was out there like WTF?!
30 -  These are the clothes I was suppose to wear today for Halloween, but SCHOOLS CLOSED! :(

...and 31 - I'm pleasing these two nuggets on a daily basis ...food, drink, shelter, love...

|week 43| my *Project Life* album

Turns out Hurricane Sandy skimmed right passed my neighborhood and we still lost our pool cover, some shingles, and part of a fence.  You don't even want to KNOW what happened to my cousin's neighborhood near the beach, or those towns that Sandy landed right on top of.

Good news about Sandy has been: Monday and Tuesday off of teacher-work (well, at least the going in and teaching kind...I've still had my fair share of plan-November to work on at home).

I did get |week 42| and |week 43| of my Project Life completed, though!
I'm all caught up and even December Dailied quite a bit (post to come).  

For now, here's |43|...

Friday, October 26th was date night for Tomas and I...we headed three places:
1) to my school's Halloween party where we saw a few of my students
2) Ben's Deli for pastrami, potato latkas, and stuffed cabbage
                    and
3) the movies to see Cloud Atlas 

Sautrday morning looked like this:

...and little did I know that Sandy would be giving us a 5-day weekend! ;)

It's weeks like these where nothing MAJOR MAJOR goes on that I think Project Life shines the most brightly.  It's easy to PL-record a super totally awesome orchestrated photoshoot (see here), but it's weeks like this one, where a silly post-it on a rearview mirror became a whole insert to itself that makes PL so magical, I think.

My favorite part about |week 42|'s spread is the above title card(s).  
The rest is just pics of the week thrown together. :)

I used cut-up stripey paper from a recent Studio Calico kit as labels.  
The same paper was used as |week 40|'s title card.

Hurricane Sandy's supposedly gonna hit us. Supposedly.

...and the rain from her is supposed to start tonight.  Supposedly.

I came across this comic this morning.  
It made me think of what we might have in store of the next 2-3 days and I'm like Wally in the green sweater: I'm fond of a family inside/hurricane outside type deal.

There's even been talks of school closings Monday or Tuesday, and secretly, I'm hoping for it.  I don't wish harm on my city or on anyone's property, but an extra day would be nice.  

I'm DYING TO CRAFT something!  If there is no school tomorrow I'm going to spend my Monday in my craftroom, crafting away, PLng |week 42 &43|...

...that would be nice.

A day.
Grant me a day.

My sister had been asking me to go with her dressed in a cute fall outfit to our neighborhood park for weeks now.  The other day, we went.

It's pretty cool to have a sister (who I call 'my bitt'), and although I'm 4 years older, we are the best of friends.   We always have been close and two nuts off the same family tree, but every year we grow more into our adult selves, our bond becomes stronger and more apparent.  

It's awesome.

my December Daily prep so far...excitement is building

Two months from today is my favorite day of the winter: Christmas Eve.  
I like it even more than Christmas...like, 10x more.

My prep so far has been:

    (1) to pull from my mile-high stack of scrap paper those ones that speak 'December' to me,
         and that look okay near and next to each other

    (2) to ready my star and snowflake hole-punches

    (3) to cut up last year's and this year's Crate&Barrel Holiday Inspiration catalogue
        (OMG! It is chock FULL of good stuff!) and make adhesive labels by running 'em through         my sticker maker machine

monday is the zombie apocalypse of the weekend

This past October weekend was lovely...

...until Monday had to limp in and gurgle it's way to my life. 

There was a comfy, cozy Ugg boot + robe wearin'  Saturday morning // kitty business waving all in the air // a sweet sister walk/jog on our jog/run trail // and the most hilarious picture message from my friend of her two littles ready for this year's Halloween.

There was a good chunk of craftroom time.  

...and today, there's nothing I wouldn't do to be able to
do good work there from dawn 'til dusk.  

Halloween was smacked onto our front stoop, and thus began the season of lit house.

December Daily's been on the brain.  Can't help it.  

Later this week, I'll post about the jump I got on it this past weekend.

Oh, and my obsession with this song just makes it worse:

Oh my goodness!  I've been playin' it on loop!  I can't stop.  
I'm a sucker for soft, sentimental December originals.

During yesterday's early evening, sis and I dressed in our sweetest Fall best, and drove to the park and had ourselves a little photoshoot.  Jus' cuz.  I think siblings should do it more often. Above are our IGed [shoe shots].

Finally, there was a smorgasbord of artichokes (our autumn/winter delicacy) and a watching of the new Walking Dead episode.

I love my special Saturday and Sundays.           

We got a FULL WEEK of no reprieve these next five days.  I'm going to have eyes on the prized Friday afternoon at 3pm, and focus all my attention on getting there.  I never thought I would feel like this in my lifetime job, but I'm working on that.

This week I have report cards to fill out, progress reports to complete, IEPs to construct, loads of lessons to pull out of my butt, and a new student to prepare for who supposedly enters my classroom in a week from today.  Oh boy.

Not to mention: a PL week to finish, a blog to maintain, and Halloween costume embellishments to breathe into life.

There is nothing particularly mentionable about |week 41|.  It mostly was the aftermath of this fabulous party, and a Columbus Day Monday off, and the arrival of the fabulous new coat I won, and the weekend coming of Claudia, and our painting of pumpkins. ;)

sick day

On Tuesday, I took a sick day off of work.  I should've yesterday and probably today too, to really get back to health, but I'll just down some more Alka-Setlzer and go in.

This outfit is what I wore to ambitiously drop off STAMP ORDERS at the Post Office and go to CVS for medicine.  Each time I got out of the car, I thought I was going to faint.

Just two more days 'til the weekend...where I can really rest up.

But who am I kidding?
There's going to be TONS of teacher-work (as usual)
& a PL Life week calling my name,
& a December Daily album to get started on.

my friend has lost 68 pounds...

Simple.  Quick.  Took me 'bout 10 minutes.

My friend, Danielle, has struggled with weight all her life, and this time...she is really gonna do it.
