my Birthday eve

Good morning, readers and peepers.  Today's my birthday.
Yesterday, however, was my Birthday Eve, and it consisted of...

...SNOW.  
Over a foot of it on the ground.  Thick, heavy, slushy snow on the tree branches, weighing them down, swooping them low...

It was also the first time the cats went out in the snow, and it was nothing short of hilarious.  
I don't believe they liked it (see face above).

Later on in the evening, after a chicken pot pie meal, my sis, my cousin, and I soaked our feet in our jacuzzi bath tub and had a fun, singing, mani/pedi night.  

I told the girls they had to put 'birthday sparkles' on their ring fingers. ;)

We let them dry over chatting, laughing,(farting...thanks to my bitt), and tea.  It was a sweet, sweet time.

When I layed down to close my eyes, my cute cuddle buddy joined me, and it felt like special birthday snuggles. :*)

This morning, I woke up, and found balloons.

I feel incredibly grateful for reaching 28.
I feel incredibly grateful to have my family at arms reach.
I feel incredibly grateful for my blessings as I enter this new year of limitless possibilities.

I pretend I need glasses sometimes.

Okay, raise your hand if you remember that Full House episode when Stephanie finds out she needs glasses and whines about it the whole time.  Here's a clip to refresh your memory. 

I always thought she was SUCH A BABY!  I grew up wanting glasses and freckles!  Yep, specs and frecks...always did. Instead, I got 15/20 vision and not a single freck.  Plenty of zits once I hit 12, but never a freck, never a freck...

...enter 2012 and the "glasses are so hip" trend and I still wish I needed some kinds of spectacle enhancement.  When the mood strikes, I wear fakies.  They glare something awful though, and look oh so fake, but I like 'em...sometimes.

Oh, and my new haircut.  It seems when I posted an instagram the day I got it cut, people thought it was a lot shorter.  I just trimmed it, people!  I'm trying for super-long length...down to the booooo-tay!  A few more years and a haircutter that listens to me should about do it.

I'm so happy it's Thursday, and not Tuesday like it feels like it is.  

I'm ready for the weekend, even though I just had a long one.  

Dang, Fall.  You almost here.

...reminds me of stripey RED wrapping*paper

I feel so blessed for my yesterday.  I got a big {shark-bite} CHUNK of my Christmas shopping and gift-wrapping done...with leftover time to spare to complete a Christmas craft (see here) and to do my nails.

They remind me of stripey red wrapping paper and just need to be topped with a gold bow or something.

To get the effect, I used:
~ Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Stripe-Tease
~ Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Right Said Red

I cut some salon effects strips and did partial-nail coverage seen above.  Don't know if I like it as much as full-nail coverage.  Actually, I don't.  Haa haa! ...but I'm glad they're "done", I'll tell you that. 

On this crazy, cold, and dreary Monday (second-to-last one before Christmas...YESSS!) it's going to be nice to glance down and see some festive fingertips.  It's going to be nice to be reminded that yes, it's almost here.  Rest-time is upon us.

In the meanwhile, let me go clean up that mess I made to make this mani:
