We dressed the boops in their yellow Easter best.

We put some plastic eggs on the floor.

I'm spending it home with my cousins, Claudia & Michael, my sister, mom, aunt, & the boops.

Nothing major.
Very low key. 

We're eating mountains of perogies, and lasagna for dinner.

Maybe a nap in between.

Tonight: The Walking Dead, Season III Finale.

my new favorite (cat) sweater

I found in EXISTENCE this sweater that IS my little boy cat, Alejandro, on a sweater.  
How could I NOT buy it.  Seriously.  HOW?!?!

...and the back?!  ...with the cute kitty pads?!  ...probably my favorite part. 

I wore it yesterday to ambitiously take a shopping trip with my sis until I
put my coat on and said, "This ain't happenin'."

I caught a bug, and have been sneezing/blowing snots and napping all of yesterday.

Besides these quick photos taken in my backyard, a McDonald's run, and The Walking Dead,
yesterday was a total wash.

Felt needed.

around here / mid-october

It's already too cold for me.

I'm trying to combat it with cute tall boots, and my new coat (yes, it arrived).  However, I know its only a matter of time before it's so cold I can't think straight, and style goes out the window, and it's Ugg+Northface time for 4-5 months straight.

Around here, it feels like a swirl of fall flavors.  Summer is definitly not here anymore, but I keep thinking about it.   It feels like it was just here.  I miss it.  

Pumpkins were painted this weekend.  Kitty boops were kissed. ...lots of spider webs.  
Slow and steady, October has been, although I can't believe we're halfway to November.

I'm so sleepy this morning...another theme of October so far: exhaustion.

Staying up to watch The Walking Dead didn't help. ;)

around here / almost school

'Almost school' means I'm writing out homework charts, and filling out plan books.  It means increased exposure to yards and yards of lamination.  It means several STAPLES-runs in a day for more binder clips, and punching out new cardboard alphabet letters (which is the most monotonous and neverending task...especially when you pick up three-to-five packs at the TeacherStore like an idiot).

'Almost school' means increased anxiety about what to teach these kids, and the impulse purchase of a crapload of brightly-colored workbooks in an attempt to ease some it.  It means triple hole-punch, velcro like crazy, and cupcake cutouts.

'Almost school' around here means questioning whether or not I will have time for my crafting and myself? I've been blogging like I'm expecting to wish it goodbye.  ...like I'm sending this hobby-love of mine off to war.

'Almost school' means September is coming, and Dangnamit! I felt the chill in the air this week. It means dressing for cooler weather; it means new TOMS and retrieving last year's baggy sweaters from the back of the closet.

'Almost school' means getting my body phased out of summer routines.  I'm re-going to WeightWatchers meetings, tracking points, and NOT shovelling everything I see into my pie-hole. It means getting used to going to bed earlier and waking up earlier.  It means being in bed with a book at 10 o'clock on a Friday night.  ...and that book is Judy Moody (planning to be the first read aloud of the year).

'Almost school' means getting sentimental about my time with the boops.  I'm realizing that my two kitty boops are going to be MORE depressed than I that I'm going back to work. 
...and I'm going to be pretty depressed.  I'm going to miss my alarmless mornings, my craftroom time, my midday walks to the grocery store, and waking up from an afternoon nap without a single thing on my mind except what's for dinner.

It's almost school, everybody.
What am I gonna do?

Hi, everybody!  

Our East Coast Road Trip officially ended last night and I'm back in my state, in my city, in my house, in my craftroom, and I'm happy about it.

It felt so good to sleep in my own bed, and to shower in my own shower (with water pressure!).

Last night, I filled my reading-mind with paper-project inspiration in the hopes of making August jam-packed with crafting fun:

The babies and I reunited...

...and they've been crazy attached to my feet since I've been home...like this commercial.
This guy (below) straight up would NOT leave me alone last night!  Slept on my head, slept on my neck, nipped my ears, crawled under the covers...he could not be more ecstatic his mommy is back.  Sheesh!

This morning I've been playing catch-up and the stamp orders I received while I were away are packaged and ready for drop off at the post office tomorrow.

The 16s below were bought in preparation for a very special 16th-birthday photoshoot I have planned for my sweet little cousin's big birthday in two weeks.

...and then with the completion of our East Coast Road Trip, comes the realization that it's CRUNCH TIME.  
In about 4 weeks, my beloved summer will be over, the new school year will begin, and I will again be placed on that treadmill that's way too fast for my body.

I had this realization actually on the road trip when I bought my mom, sister, and I souvenir tervis coffee mugs...you know...for those long, miserable, cold-morning commutes once we return to work.

Gah! Nooo!

These next four weeks are going to zoom by -- I know it -- but I'm back.
I'm back, and I'm going to do everything in my power to make this month great.

You watch!

This week, I'm going to be running a bunch of errands, working on putting the road trip into my *Project Life* album, starting some projects, visiting my new classroom, hosting a casual pool day...and we'll see what else.

around here / mid-July

Around here there's been a lot of steady, long, quiet (for the most part) days.  Mondays blend into Tuesdays that blend into Wednesdays...it's been HOT HOT HOT.  I like it, though, and have been making outdoor office spaces.  I got a new iPhone case that reminds me of my kitty boops. I took inventory of my polaroid film preparing for 'Roid Week in August.  I'm eating like CRAZY, which is bad because it's bikini season, but good because I get to take pics and then use my
[I ate this.] Yum. stamp in my Project Life. ...and speaking of: thank you so much for the kind words and the support I received about my stamps and my shop.  As an opening day, I cannot complain. (I was quite thrilled actually!) Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

around here / the boops

These are my silly kitty boops, Alejandro and Carmen Sandiego.

...and silly me, all caught up in my own baloney, forgot to wish them Happy 'Found' Day on Monday and Tuesday.  

On June 11th and June 12th, two years ago, I found my little kitty boops -- stray and without a mommy -- in our backyard.  The full stories here and here.

I couldn't be happier to be their mommy, so...Happy 'Found' Day, lovie munchkins!
I don't know what I'd do without you!  
(...but I know what the birds would do: eat out their new feeder with more peace of mind.)

Two Years Old!

My two baby kitty boops were born two years ago, today.  I made this layout this week with that in mind.  The two pictures used for the layout were taken on 6-11-10 (the day we found Alejandro) and 6-12-10 (the day I scooped up Carmen).

MATERIALS
.  .  .  .  .

A whole bunch of the Studio Calico CITY OF LIGHTS kit was used for this layout: the paper, butterfly stickers, wooden frame...The white foam letters are Amy Tangerine.  The accent papers are from a Dear Lizzy 6x6 pack. The "meant" was made from Penny Black alphas in 'ROBUST'. I also used alpha stamp from HEROARTS and HEROARTS shadow ink. 

I'm so grateful for my babies each and every day.  I'm such a doting cat-momma.  They are the two best boops, so funny, so human, so cuddly and loving.  I wake up, and they're the first faces I see, and they're the first faces I smooch when I come home from work in the afternoon.

Happy 2nd Birthday to my little meatball baby boops!
We were meant to be mommy and babies forever and ever.
