PL 2013 |week 19|

Welcome to |week 19| of my project life album. 

The whole left side is rather gray. I think it matches the fog I felt last week.

I wasted no time using the clear plastic heart-centered geotag, and it's donut hole heart cut out that I received in the Studio Calico May Scrapbook kit. OMG. 

Mark my words: lucite is the new wood veneer.

(I do love my wood veneer, though.) ;)

Half-ponytails never fail to be a bitch when I try to remove them ^. Ouch.

The bottom is the birthday card I sent to him with the sentiment: "I miss you million." I really do.

Middle insert is my 'Week in Review'...changed around again and made into a 4x12 divider. 
(I will be make all the different formats of my 'Week in Reviews' available for free download sometime next week.) 

The right side:

I made the right side have color because Friday-Saturday-Sunday did feel less foggy than the start of the week.

robe + rainboots + coffee + Carmen + squirrel feed  = Saturday, May 11th @ 7:38am...

A little inside joke started with my sister: 'car fun'...

Some words I've been living by from 'The Jobs':

...and stapled sequins. :) ...inspired by this recent project life of the fabulous Elisa Blaha Cripe.

The last two inserts of |week 19|'s spread was the most recent classroom garden shot I took,
and a karaoke song-selection shot.  Very routine images for these past months.

PL 2013 |week 18|

This is my |week 18|, ya'll.  

It is made up of a two page spread, with a 6x12 insert in the middle, my brochure-like April 'Day in the Life' and a scrapbook layout of Jimmy on one side and my end-of-April currentlies on the other.

Most of the beginning is all from our dad-and-daughters trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

I don't remember many April showers...just April coldness. :/

That Bonsai Museum really hit me. The whole entire day trip made me think of him, but the bonsai museum...[deep sigh].

I was waiting for the right time to use this Studio Calico insert from the March PL kit.  
This spread was it.

After the Brooklyn Botantic Garden photos, I inserted the brochure, and behind it is my 'Day in the Life'.

Front is the main photo and recordings...

Back is photo page 1 of 3...

...then open it up (all brochure-like)...

...and the inside a photo pages 2 and 3.

After my 'Day in the Life' came the Jimmy Fallon layout.

...and on the back of that is an 'Adios, April' currentlies layout:

...and two shots of me *attempting to* meditte for the firt time in my life.

My 'Week in Review' was done again like the W-in-R in |week 15| -- I took a 12:4 portion of one of my reent photos and floated the 'week in review' over that.  Then, I pulled colors with some colors of the photos around it.

PL 2013 |week 17|

Hello, my beloved readers and peepers!

Here are my Project Life pages from |week 17|, where pastina was eaten for dinner two nights in a row:

...and I thought so much, non-stop about me and him. YOU & ME, if he (you) are reading this.  What? I don't know.

The whole left side is pretty neutral in color, pops of green from our classroom garden, and journalled jots -- some digitally and some with a SMASH marker.

We marked the end of the NY Statewide ELA and Math Assessment.  They're totally bogus, but over.

My spring weekdays have been made up of pretty much everything you see in that insert above.

Exploring our garden is my favorite part of walking in the classroom in the mornings.

I added a thin insert equipped with three 4x4 square photos of my April Friday night with the girls on one side, and three 4x4 shots from sewing class on the other side:

I'm also loving the teal trim I added because I stared at the insert for a good ten minutes trying to figure out what I could add.  It was missing something to separate it from the larger pages on either side of it.  I sliced the edge of this teal swirly overlay with the plastic protective cover still on it, and adhered both the overlay and the cover to my middle insert.

Came cute:

The right side included a couple more shot from sewing class, and other |week 17| randoms from around the house (Alejandro's turkey drumstick legs), and sister and I's neighborhood outings.

PL 2013 |week 16|

Where yesterday's |week 15| spread took me all of last week to complete, today's |week 16| spread was printed, layed out, and embellished all yesterday morning.  

The first card I made for the spread was that Boston one.  I can't believe the week Boston's had.  This insert is my way to say "we are with you."

LOTS of digital journalling for |Week 16|.

...mainly because it was the week of terribly missing him, of emotional ups and downs...

One definite 'up' was my lucky thrift store dress find on Sunday afternoon! Yay!

My love affair with magnolias began.

I printed the pics and words from this post.

The right side of the spread:

My 'Week in Review' was switched up to a 4x4 card:

...and I pulled some colors from the eraser pic to coordinate.

Some images and words from my black&blue MAXi post made the top of the page.

Two images from my Friday & Saturday night out with the girls, drinking, eating, looking presentable was included. Both nights were a great change from my normal boring weekend nights of straight to bed.

The bottom portion of the spread was a homage to the freakin' tests my students took this week.

Their 'YOU CAN DO IT' pencils I passed out to each of them...

...and the 'TESTING SUCKS' insert.  It so does.

PL 2013 |week 15|

|Week 15| of 2013...with it came the first FULL WEEK back from Spring Break, and the need for escape.  Starting that first temperate spring Monday, my sister and I set off on our walk/jog/run trail and it was on!

The weather got warmer Tuesday, and even warmer still on Wednesday! It was just what |week 15| needed...that launch into springtime, and the open invitation for sandals & anklets! 

My [ shoe shot ] stamp is the perfect compliment to all those pics of this season's hottest sandals. Get yours here.

Wednesday, I broke out my sparkly Target sandals.  I love 'em love 'em.

On the other side of my [ shoe shots ] is my OUT TO SEW // 2 pics.

The right side are some randoms from the week: the 'Get Well Soon' frame I made for one of our classroom buddies that was in the hospital for over a week, Mom's 55th Birthday card, my sister turning into a walker, the happy accident that was my usual strawberry-banana smoothie without the strawberries (SO GOOD!), our classroom garden's first sprout (yay!), the happy yellow birdhouse spied up in a tree, and of course...my Week in Review.

Oh, my Week in Review...I keep finding new ways to present it...and it's morphed since that first 3x4 insert I created back in |week 8|.  Above, I took a 12:4 portion of one of my recent instagram shots and floated the 'week in review' over that.  

...and you know what's so FUN?!?! I can think back to when I took that shot, and spent a minute or two editing it with apps, and never would I have known what it would become. Look at it now!  It's an awesome awesome backdrop for |week 15|'s 'Week in Review'...who knew?! So fun!

PL 2013 |week 14|

|Week 14| was the tail end of Spring Break.  It included Easter Sunday, the last Monday & Tuesday of Spring Break, back to school, the planting of our classroom garden, a karaoke party, and my first day of sewing class.

PL 2013 |week 13|

Ahhh...Spring Break |week 13|...mainly relaxed.  Online shopped a bit too much, and now I'm adamant about saving money.  The madness has to stop.

Bought a new bike. [ ? ] Did another 'round of 'Day in the Life' for March.

Here's the spread:

My 'Week in Review' insert showed up again, for the sixth week in a row.  This time, however, I made it into a 6x4 card instead of a 3x4.  You can download it for free in .psd format HERE.

I love these Studio Calico PL cards (like the cloud 9 one above).
They have a great base elements, and then I add flair and studd to I make it my own.

Did the same thing with the 'end of DaylightSavings' card in |week 11|.

Here's how I put March's 'Day in the Life' into this week's spread.  

Uhhh...it was kind of the same exact way I did it last time.

It opens like a brochure...the other three surfaces are photo collages from the day.  I made the collages from Ali Edwards' digital photo templates.

Another short middle insert I included this week was ode to my new blue Biria bicycle.

I didn't include any words or journalling.  I just let the photos do the talking.

After my bike insert, came the right side of |week 13|.  Randoms from the end of the week:

Perogie (<-- is that how you spell? I feel I should know this...) making was a tremendous blast and our annual Easter tradition. I've posted about it in the past.

Finally, to say Adios! to March, my 'Currentlies' stamp:

PL 2013 |week 12|

Nothing could be more true than this statement:

My whole left side of this spread is just random things I remember from the Monday to Thursday of last week.  I was so tunnel-visioned trying to get to Friday at 3pm that King Kong could've passed through and I wouldn't have noticed.  Plus, the whole preference sheet panic of last week had my worried mind on code red.

But anyway, on to the randoms that were |week 12| ...

I spied those sparkly glitterly sandals on instagram and went to Target (up the block from my job -- oh so dangerous) the next day and bought myself a pair.

I did my best to keep to Mission SKINS and PRITS last week, but traded in Shawn-T and INSANITY for the wii remote and ZUMBA.
(So funny: people on IG thought I was holding up a gigantic pregnancy test!  Haa haa!  See here.)

I came across this image last week at just the time I needed to see it. 

Me: God, show me a sign!

God: [Okay! Here it is!]

Don't you love when that happens?

The middle insert is the poems I found in my bag from my para, the day after I told her I won't be coming back to teach next year.  Since telling her, she has put up her biggest fight trying to convince me to stay.

The REAL STORY is below:

Did you see what I wore?

I still, after months and months, adore my [shoe shot] stamp.  Every time I stamp it next to my feet, it is the perfect little compliment to the photo.

My favorite part: when the father of the birthday girl lip-synched the whole Bruno Mars' song "Just The Way You Are"...

PL 2013 |week 11|

Everybody, say Hi! to |week 11|.  
Doesn't the conclusion of Daylight Savings make you happy too?  Dang, it's awesome.

Like last week, |week 11| is only one-half of a whole two-page spread, but includes this past week's workout pics that I've affectionately called 'Mission Skins & Prits'.  
Those moments of activity were placed on the other side of the 2x2 coin protector page from last week:

Below is the one-page right side of |week 11|:

Again, like last week, not many photos.  In fact...hardly any.  Most were me working out -- when I would come home to unwind and remember to take a photo or two -- but those were reserved for the coin pockets. 

A few new inserts from the Studio Calico March Project Life kit were used to make things easy and coherent.

My 'Week in Review' card made it's fourth apperance.  At this point, I don't know that I won't ever make a week's spread without one again.  I love it's function, it's look...for now.  We'll see, though. It's still new. ;)

That black, cute little graphic 'make' heart...that was inspired by the 'fave' one that came with our kit.  I wanted to use it, but nothing about |week 11| was really my faaave so I decided to make my own version, better to fit in with this week's events.  It is my one little word for 2013 after all. 

My Monday trip to the ENT was kind of a big deal because I should have went years ago.  Eyebrow headaches are NOT okay, people!  You have sinus trouble!  Get it checked. Over the moon that I finally did.

Finally, a little afterthought...

I have to laugh.  This week felt like month, but good news is it's over now, and I only have to drudge through 5 more days and then Friday at 3pm, it's Spring Break!  Wooo hooo!

PL 2013 |week 10|

|Week 10| came and went, and like its two previous winter-weeked cousins February & January didn't consist of many good pictures.

I worked my way around that by making |week 10| only one side of a spread and including lots of Project Life inserts (never realized how much easier a kit really does make this project). 

Left side:

I focused a lot on my thoughts, which I seem to do during these winter months.  This 'I am.' card was a way for me to list all the things 'I am' currently doing.  

The card is 'clean' so to speak, because all the add-ons are on the outside of the pocket...that way, I can use the 'I am.' card again, if I want to.

This is a fun idea for an insert if you're needing one to fill a pocket: write an uplifting letter or poem or pep-talk to yourself.  I really needed one, but like most things, why look to others to give you what you need? I gave it to myself, right on top of this photo. Then I blogged it.  

My 'Week in Review' insert struck again this week, for the third week in a row.  See it first here, then here.  You can download it for free in .psd format HERE.

I had to include, below, my student John, in the mess of his paper boats because that made up so much of my week.  Making his army of folded big and small, white and yellow paper boats is most of his school day. {{deep sigh}}

I finished the page with a 'Remember To' insert that I cut from a SMASH Book about a year ago. I love when older products mesh so well with new products (brand new washi on that card).

Now, while I kept |week 10| to just one 12x12 pocket page instead of two, I did include a 8x10 collage of the workout routine I started with the coming of March on the right side: 

This is my documentation of the first few days of #MissionSKINSnPRITS. 

Here's the full page:

Some bold and graphic black&white patterned paper, some pink, some beige, arrows, flair, and photos from the week of Mission SKINS n PRITS progress.   I used a 2x2 coin pocket page bought on Amazon.  

I plan to do the same progress recording in next week's spread, on the reverse side.
